Welcome to the Ribbon Cutting page of the Davis Chamber of Commerce! We appreciate your interest in having our Lakesider Ambassador group join in on this special occasion. A Ribbon Cutting is more than just a ceremony; it’s a celebration of milestones and a symbol of new beginnings. To ensure your experience is seamless and successful, please follow these steps:
Schedule in Advance
This allows us to coordinate with our Lakesider Ambassadors and ensure their presence at your event.
Provide Event Details
Share essential details about your event, such as date, time, location, and any specific highlights you’d like to include.
Invite Guests
Extend invitations to clients, partners, friends, and the local community. A strong turnout enhances the celebratory atmosphere.

What to Expect
Generally the ribbon cutting ceremony will be as follows:
• President of the Chamber will welcome the business
• The mayor or other City official will give remarks, each city Mayor’s contact information can be found in this link . We recommend you reach out to your respective Mayor.
• Lakesiders will be introduced
• Business owner/manager may make a statement about the business, recognize any VIP’s or others who have helped to make the business a success, introduce staff, etc.
• Ribbon will then be held by members of the Lakesiders with the business owner cutting the ribbon.
What The Chamber and Lakesiders will provide:
Ribbon, scissors, notice in the Chamber newsletter and social media posts with pictures from the event. Please expect an average of eight Lakesiders in attendance (this can be as low as four and as high as twenty depending on their business schedule).
Refreshments
You may choose to have any type of refreshments you prefer, such as hors d’oeuvres or a full lunch. We do suggest, though, that if the ribbon cutting is at the noon hour that a light meal be served since business members are using their lunchtime for your event.

Directions / Signage: Please give good directions to the Chamber staff so that those in attendance can find your location easily. Please make sure the sign on your building is visible from the street. Balloons or other bright objects will help identify your event.
